Upcycling of industry byproducts for reintroduction into the food chain
"The animal is as wise as

the measure of his need,
while man ignores it." Democritus
Food Balance is the sector of the Terra Balance Group committed to finding the best technological solutions for the sustainability of food production through a rational use of industry byproducts, contributing to protecting humanity from the threats of food shortages and the depletion of resources.
At the same time, Food Balance aims to raise awareness of environmental issues, mitigating cross-cutting risks such as health, poverty and underdevelopment.

Dregs and Olive Oil Polyphenols
"Conserve, protect and restore the health and integrity of the Earth’s ecosystem." Rio 1992 Conference
Food Balance currently develops its activity in two specific areas whose byproducts, despite having considerable nutritional value, are largely wasted or underutilized: Dregs and Olive Oil Polyphenols.
Recycling of high quality protein
Dregs, Beer and whiskey industry upcycling
Recycling of high-quality proteins from brewing or whiskey production, an approach to sustainability known as “organic upcycling”, represents an opportunity for the circular economy.
Bioconversion of these residues into fertilizers, their application in the production of animal feed, their use as a substrate for the production of bioethanol and biohydrogen, and their bioconversion into some important biopolymers or enzymes for other industries.
